Tube cane for Cor Anglais

Our Cor Anglais tube cane also originates, like the Oboe cane, from the Var region of south France.

Cor Anglais cane comes from - due to its larger diameter than Oboe cane - from a lower part of the plant (Arundo Donax). This means that Cor Anglais cane usually has more of a grain than Oboe cane.
The grain is formed due to cane knocking together in the wind. This then causes tiny injuries/tears to the fibres which then release moisture from their cells henceforth creating this graining.

Deciding on the diameter

The diameter of Cor Anglais cane has a far smaller effect than with Oboe cane. As cane generally eases when being cut, we suggest using a slightly small diameter than that of your gouging machines bed.

So: if your gouging machine has a 12.0 bed, we recommend using 11.5-12.0mm cane or 12.0-12.5mm cane on a 12.5mm machine.
